After another night of little sleep it was time to gather up the gang and head out for some food. I was feeling really hungry this morning! Na had some wedding business to take care of , so she had went out ahead of us. Most of us got ready pretty quick except for Tommy who decided he needed to put a couple of toilet-paper rolls to good use.
I checked out some places to eat here in Dalat on the net and i came over some places that were recommended. One of them was a place called Peace Cafe. We hooked a taxi, and i told the driver to take us to Peace Cafe. He said ok. 5 Minutes later we ended up at V Cafe…i guess Peace and V can sound similar. Anyways, i had Na on the phone and she told the driver to take us to Peace Cafe. He apologized and drove us to another spot that was quite familiar. When we got out of the taxi we were basically standing in front of the cafe/bar we were at the other night. Ok, fair enough. We crossed the street and went into this restaurant we had gotten some drinks at earlier. They had a pretty good breakfast menu.
Since i’m on vacation i have decided to be somewhat more easy on the carbs/sugar. So i ordered fried eggs and a cheeseburger with fries. My father was in heaven cause he finally found tomato soup on a menu!
First up however was my usual choice of drink:
Club soda (sparkling water). They usually serve that with a glass that is 1/4 loaded with pure sugar. Then they pour the club soda in the glass with sugar, squeeze lime into it and stir a bit…and you have yourself a Sprite/7up. I just go for my regular sparkling water.
My fried eggs (with a whole damn puffed up baguette) arrived at the table.
Thats right…thats a damn fly in my egg! Click on the picture for a full-size version if you wanna see the good stuff. I asked the waiter over and showed him the fly. He smiled and took the plate away.
In the meantime…my cheeseburger arrived:

The cheeseburger was maybe one of the best burgers i’ve ever had, seriously. I didn’t eat the fries, though.
My father was very pleased with his tomato soup:
After we finished our meal we decided to take a stroll around in the town.
Dalat is filled with small shops that sell assorted things:
A couple of women selling vegetables:
Quite the busy spot:
I had to ninja-photograph these shots:
We also found a street that was filled with stores selling scooter helmets and parts:
Na phone me up after a while and wanted to come pick us up. We were all going to visit her grandmothers house and have dinner with them.
This is the time i got to ride on her scooter thru the streets of Dalat…and just in time for the traffic rush (school ending)! It kinda felt like a theme park ride and its something i wanna try again. Na even brought me my own helmet. I’ll add that photo later, but here is one of Na:
When we came back we took a quick rest before taking a taxi out to grandmothers house. While we were there we gave offerings and asked for the blessing of our marriage to Nas great grandmother and great grandfather. It was a similar type of event like we had the other day when giving offerings to Nas deceased friend.
After spending time there we went back to the house to just chill out. Me, Tommy and Ole-G drank some whiskey and talked for a bit. I’ll admit i felt kinda breezy later on.
Na arrived later to tell us we could go pick up the dress for my mother and also the suits Ole-G and my father had ordered. My mother got her dress, but they needed some more hours on the suits, so we went to relax at a cafee and get something to drink. Later we took a taxi home. Two things that dont match is bumpy roads and me being a bit breezy. I started feeling car sick after 1 minute and by the time we got to the house i was feeling pretty damn horrible. I went up to my room and threw up instantly..i got so exhausted that i just sat down on the bathroom. The lack of sleep, the immense heat, side effects of medicine, whisky and too little water drinking finally took its toll on me. I passed out on the floor.
The only thing i remember later on is Na finding me, and she was worried sick. Her sisters helped her take care of me and put me to bed. Her mother wanted to call a doctor, cause i was obviously in a coma. I woke up some hours later, feeling 100%..oddly enough. Na had been sitting beside me this whole time, and when she went outside to get some water etc, her sister was “standing guard” at my room. That kind of commitment is just not describable. Na had brought me some food that i quickly ate, and i drank a bottle of water pretty damn fast. She was so worried about me, and i can understand that.
